Ultralight Backpacking Tent: Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL

The Copper Spur HV UL series, one of our most popular, full-featured, ultralight backpacking tents, has just been redesigned with new features inside and out, using proprietary materials that are lighter and stronger, and equipped with hardware that makes set-up even easier. Already a customer favorite, this freestanding tent now offers enhanced comfort and functionality.

The high-volume design of the Copper Spur HV UL provides ample living space, with traditional, media, and 3D bin pockets to help organize your gear without compromising your sleep area or ability to sit up inside. Redesigned awning-style vestibules can be customized to expand the covered living space, offering great protection from both rain and sun.

To improve the set-up experience, the Copper Spur HV UL features a new proprietary tent corner construction with a unique TipLok Tent Buckle. This streamlines the process by combining three functions: secure pole-tip capture, rainfly attachment and tensioning, and stake-out loop. The keyed hole locks the pole tip in place during set-up, while the hinged design helps stabilize the structure by equalizing forces between the tent body, rainfly, and ground stake.

The new pre-bent span pole, coupled with the 4-way high-volume hub design, increases strength, stability, and the ability to shed rain and snow, while creating optimal livable space where you need it most. The proprietary ultralight nylon double ripstop fabric, with a mixed denier construction, offers extra tear strength and puncture resistance without adding weight.

For convenient access and organization, the Copper Spur HV UL includes features like the Quick Stash door-keeper, which makes stowing unzipped doors quick and easy. Oversized ceiling pockets in the head and "mezzanine" storage bins in the foot provide ample space to stash your gear. The tent also includes multiple interior loops for attaching accessories like Big Agnes gear lofts and mtnGLO Tent & Camp Lights (sold separately).

Available in UL2, UL3, and UL4 models, the Copper Spur HV UL tents feature two doors and two vestibules, providing multiple access points and helping to minimize wind-driven rain or snow entry into the living space.
